Chinatown

San Francisco's Chinatown begins at the dragon-crested gate at Grant Avenue and Bush Street, a gift from the Republic of China in 1969.
SF Chinatown is the 2nd largest Chinese community in the US after New York City's. The part of Chinatown that people find interesting is along Stockton & Grant between Bush & Columbus. It's best mid-day when all the shops are open & streets are busy. It is 8 blocks long. But don't miss the real Chinatown. Between Grant & Stockton, off the major cross streets, are the Chinatown alleys. They are the essence of Chinatown
